Ministry of Praise is a unique organization with no meetings. So many parishioners are home bound or suffering, and many more have so many commitments that they cannot attend the regular meetings of an organization. Yet prayer is something everyone can do!
The Ministry of Praise is designed to unite parishioners through their offerings of prayer, works, sufferings and sacrifices as a perpetual gift to God. Each minister of praise will be asked to commit themselves to praying one hour each week for the sick and the community of St. Dominic. You may pray in church, at home, in the hospital or on the road. You can choose to pray for a few minutes at a time or make a regular weekly holy hour. Each minister is sent monthly updates about individuals needing prayers for their specific illness. You will also be updated on who has been given yet another miracle in life by God. Would you consider making a commitment to prayer?

The Meal Ministry of St. Dominic is a group of parishioners aiming to strengthen our community by “helping out in the kitchen.” This Ministry offers short-term support by preparing and delivering meals to individuals and families going through stressful situations such as hospitalization/serious illness, death or birth/adoption. As part of the St. Dominic Welcome Ministry, our goal is to actively demonstrate a commitment to helping all parishioners feel like a part of the St. Dominic family.
Homebound Visits are designed to bring companionship and the Eucharist to parishioners who are unable to attend Mass due to hospitalizations, recovery from surgery/illness or some seniors who just cannot leave their home. YOU set the frequency and time. Normally, a visit lasts one half hour and is set for two times a month. I don’t know who feels more rewarded after the visit- the homebound or the visitor.
Angels on Wheels is a group of people who pick up parishioners and taking them to chemotherapy/radiation appointments or doctor follow-ups. Volunteers are contacted by email to check their availability as needed, typically Mondays through Fridays in the morning or afternoon. There is no set schedule; if you are available you simply sign up!
