Sacraments, cont'd.
Reconciliation:
Every Saturday from 4 – 4:30
p.m., a priest is available in the rooms at the back of church for the Sacrament
of Reconciliation. If this time is not convenient, this Sacrament can be
celebrated at anytime by calling the rectory for a personal appointment.
For our parish children, the celebration of First Reconciliation is celebrated
in conjunction with our First Eucharist program. The program introduces children
to the reconciling process between themselves, God and others. For adults, First
Reconciliation is celebrated as part of the
RCIA process.
Anointing of the Sick:
There is nothing more healing than prayer, and this Sacrament helps to
strengthen both the body and spirit of those who are suffering. We would
appreciate being informed about the sick or aged who are unable to come to
church or who are hospitalized so that we can share this beautiful Sacrament.
When one is seriously ill, please request the Sacrament of Anointing by calling
the parish office.
Marriage:
The preparation for this beautiful Sacrament must be initiated by the
interested parishioners contacting the pastor at least six months prior to the
intended date. This time allows the couple to participate in pre-marriage
preparation programs and counseling. This pre-marriage
preparation, called Pre-Cana, is a series of meetings
with the pastor and a special one-day class with fellow engaged couples. This
process provides a beautiful time of reflection and communication for the
couple.
Holy Order:
The Sacrament of Holy Order is a
vocation choice for leadership and service in the Catholic Community as an
ordained minister. Our diocese has its own undergraduate and graduate school
formation program. Please contact
Father Tom if you are interested in this
special Sacrament.
