St. Dominic parishioner, Brian Boswell, returned from his first visit to El Salvador as a changed person. After the trip, he wanted to remained involved with the people of El Salvador in a meaningful way. During his first trip, he witnessed people of all ages needing shoes and better footwear. To meet this need, Brian started “Heart & Sole,” a ministry that accepts news or gently used shoes for the people of Chiltiupan.
Brian collects dress shoes, athletic shoes, sandals, work boots, and ladies’ heels. Brian organizes these shoes, launders them, and even makes minor repairs (if necessary.) Several suitcases of shoes are often shipped with each St. Dominic delegation. A special need exists for children’s dress and athletic shoes.
